I’ve lived in India all my life, and like most of us, I’ve always had someone come around to collect the garbage from our home.

But I’ve also seen how unpredictable that can be. Some days they come, some days they don’t. There’s no fixed time, no way to know if they’re on their way, and often, no number to call if you miss them.

And I don’t think that’s their fault. They’re going from house to house, doing an essential job with very little technology or structure around them. But it made me think, there has to be a better way.

Today, I can see exactly when my cab will arrive. I can track my food, groceries and medicines from the moment I order them. So much of our everyday life is now available at the click of a button.
